in my fantasy bball league.
last week i went into sunday with a 5-5 tie in the semifinals of the playoffs. i held the tiebreaker. all of the categories were basically won: i had 4 and the other guy had 5. only offensive boards was up in the air...so i knew that i would have to hang on and win that category. winning OREB = a 5-5 score = me winning the tiebreaker. on sunday, my opponent picked up tyson chandler with the last free agent pick of the week he had.
tyson's stats on april 8th: 8 points, 6 DREB, 10 OREB.
TEN offensive rebounds. i ended up losing.
this week, entering sunday, it was a 5-5 tie for the 3rd place game. i held the tiebreaker. again, all of the categories were basically won with the exception of offensive rebounds. i had a free agent pickup left for the week, so i dropped al jefferson. and i had a choice between picking up two players: joakim noah or tyson chandler.
after a lot of number crunching, i went with tyson chandler. mostly because of what he did to me last week.
tyson chandler today: 9 points, 3 DREB, 2 OREB.
lo and behold my opponent picked up joakim noah.
noah's stats today: 20 points, 4 DREB, 13 OREB.
that's right, THIRTEEN!!!! OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS.
and thaaaaaat, ladies and gentlemen (i'm looking at YOU, tyson chandler) was the difference between taking home $185 and taking home $20. what a joke.
